The Prince Albert A&W Bears picked up a big 3-2 win over the Swift Current Wildcats Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre.

With the win, the Bears leapfrogged over the Wildcats in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League standings to take third place. The Bears have a chance to increase their lead on the Wildcats for third as both teams will meet again Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.

Bears rookie Faith Volk scored her first Midget AAA career goal in the opening period, but the Wildcats scored twice in the first to give them a 2-1 lead heading into the second. Chloe Smith and Brooklyn Haubrich had the goals for the Wildcats.

That’s all the offence the visitors would get as Bears goaltender Jessica Vance and the defence in front of her shut the door for the final 40 minutes.
