Reed Gunville had two goals and an assist in the Mintos 5-2 win in Yorkton as they take 3 of a possible 4 points in the weekend doubleheader.

PA A and W Bears beat Notre Dame 3-1 to sweep that weekend twinbill.

Meanwhile the Tisdale Trojans topped Moose Jaw 5-0 to win two straight in that weekend doubleheader on the road.

In PJHL action the Prince Albert Icehawks scored three goals in the 2nd period, and would go on to beat the West Central Rage 5-4.

St. Mary Boys and Girls teams have advanced to Provincials.

The Boys finished 1st, and the girls 2nd at regionals.

The Carlton boys also advance to Provincials after taking 2nd place this weekend.

The girls will play in Regina next weekend, and the boys play in Saskatoon.

Aaron Roy took the highest score of the night at the Professional Bull Riding National Champinship, held in Saskatoon.

Roy is from the Asquith area.

It’s the first time he’s competed since breaking his jaw and back at the 2013 Calgary Stampede.

Roy goes home with the championship title and $12,000 in prize money.
