Nov 17, 2014 | 1:35 PM

Raider winger MacKenze Stewart will not play in Friday’s game at the Art Hauser Centre against the Swift Current Broncos. Stewart and Bronco winger Tanner LeSann will serve one game suspensions for their game opening fight Saturday night in Swift Current. They dropped the gloves and went toe-to-toe throwing hay-makers at each other just nine seconds after the opening face off. The fight brought the crowd and both benches to their feet. The WHL handed out the suspensions after determining it was a staged fight.

Stewart who has been moved up to the wing from defense due to the fact the Raiders have only 11 true forwards, has 2 goals, 3 assists and 37 penalty minutes in 20 games. The 19 year old who finished last season with 5 goals, 4 assists and 69 PIMS in 55 games, was the 7th round draft choice of the Vancouver Canucks last June.

The Raiders who beat the Broncos 3-2 in a shootout to end a four game losing streak Saturday night in Swift Current, open a three game road trip Sunday in Lethbridge. They also play Tuesday November 25th in Calgary and Wednesday the 26th in Edmonton before returning home Saturday the 29th to host Brandon. All Raiders games can be heard on 900 CKBI.
