A safer weekend for drivers in P.A.

Nov 16, 2014 | 2:35 PM

A quieter weekend than most for Parkland Ambulance Paramedics.

Officials with Parkland Ambulance report that paramedics were only called out to 47 incidents over the weekend.

And on top of that drivers were very controlled with only one accident reported.

It happened early Saturday around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of 22nd Street and Second Avenue West.

An 18-year-old man was injured and he was taken to Victoria Hospital for minor injuries.

However the chilling temperatures did not appear to keep foot traffic at bay around the city.

Parkland Ambulance officials report that there were six assaults that paramedics were called out to.

One of them involved an 8-year-old boy on Friday night in the 1500 block of 12th Street West.

He received minor injuries in the incident and was taken to Victoria Hospital for further care.
