Sask. premier will keep close eye on U.S. senate vote
Premier Brad Wall says he’s discouraged by President Barack Obama’s final push against the Keystone XL Pipeline.
“What the president’s been saying is not very encouraging,” said Wall on Friday. “He is digging in, in opposition. He’s now more overtly opposed to this pipeline than I’ve actually heard him in the past.”
A bill that would force approval of the pipeline passed in the House of Representatives Friday. The Republican-led senate will vote Tuesday. The project appears to have overwhelming support from the senate.
But Wall points out: the pipeline is not a done-deal.
