Prince Albert area celebrating Remembrance Day

Local Royal Canadian Legion Branches are ready to celebrate Remembrance Day.

Wreaths have been coming in to local branches for residents to purchase and lay either at the armoury or the cemetery.

In Prince Albert the legion is hosting their ceremony at the PA Armoury Building on the Exhibition grounds.

Before the event there will be a breakfast at the Legion Hall at 8 a.m. and the public is welcome to attend.

Following breakfast there will be the ceremony at the Armoury at 10:45 a.m.

The legion is asking those involved in the event to come at 10:30 a.m.

The event will even feature some guest speakers.

Following the ceremony in Prince Albert there will be tea and dainties at the legion hall with a supper to follow.

The supper is open to the public.

In Shellbrook, the local legion is holding their ceremony at the Shellbrook Theater at 10:30.

The public is invited to come out for 10:15.

Following that service there will be a march towards the local legion hall where there will be tea, hot totties and sandwiches.

In Melfort the local legion is holding their ceremony at the local high school, MUCC, at 11 a.m.

There will be tea and dainties at the legion hall following the event.

In Birch Hills the ceremony will be held at the Birch Hills Civic Center with the doors opening at 10 a.m. with the legion members arriving at 10:40 a.m. for an opening prayer and music beginning at 11 a.m.

Following the ceremony the legion will be holding an open house with a light lunch for those who’d like to mingle.
