ECE Training – Level 1:

Notice to Partners and Service Providers:

The Prince Albert Literacy Network (PALN), in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic (formerly SIAST), is accepting applications for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1 Supported  Program for *Literacy Level 1 & 2 learners in Prince Albert. 

The program is designed to support Literacy level 1 & 2 learners as they complete 12 weeks of in-class instruction and 3 weeks of work experience to achieve their ECE Level 1 Certificate. 

January 12  – April 30, 2015  (Mon-Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

Classroom Location: SIAST Woodlands Campus

Early Childhood Education– Supported Level 1 Certificate Program for Literacy Level 1 & 2 Learners

*all applicants will be assessed to determine literacy level

The Supported Program Includes:

-In-class instruction ECE

-First Aid/CPR certification

-WHMIS Certification

-Food Safe Certification

-Training:  workplace skills, life skills, family literacy and study skills

-Complete portfolio & resume preparation

-Completion of practicum/work experience

-Elder and Adult Tutor services

-Access to community supports,  resources and referrals

Tuition Fees are Covered by the Program – PTA Eligible

Upon Successful Completion of the program, participants will be eligible for:

-Employment in a Child Care Center

-Continued support from the Prince Albert Literacy Network Adult Tutor Program.

Criteria for Application:

1.Assessed as Level 1 or 2 Learner (free assessments provided)

2.First Nations/Métis and/or unemployed

3.Must be prepared to complete a Criminal Record and Child Abuse Record check

Limit of 20 participants accepted from applicants

Security Officer Training:

The Prince Albert Literacy Network (PALN), in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic (SIAST Woodlands Campus), is accepting applications for a supported Security Officer Program for *Literacy Level 1 & 2 learners in Prince Albert. 

The program is designed to support Literacy level 1 & 2 learners as they complete 12 weeks of in-class instruction and 3 weeks of work experience to achieve their Security Officer Licence and course credits. 

January 12  – April 30, 2015  (Mon-Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

-Mental Health First Aid training

-Access to community supports,  resources and referrals
