Icehawks lose 10-1 in home opener to Thunder
The Prince Albert Icehawks home opener wasn’t as warm of a welcome they’d hoped.
They were overwhelmed in a 10-1 decision to the Tri-Town Thunder Wednesday in the Icehawks’ first game at the Kinsmen this year—dropping their record to 1-2 on the year.
The Thunder rolled to a 3-0 lead after the first period, then slapped on another four in the second to take a commanding 7-0 lead into the third period.
The game was 8-0 until Icehawks captain Brett Boyer put the home side on the board. That’s already Boyer’s fifth goal of the season in just three games.
