Swift Current chase, carjacking leads to charges
A man who crashed a car he allegedly stole from a 77-year-old woman in Swift Current is now facing charges for the incident as well as a robbery beforehand.
RCMP arrested 38-year-old David Lee Little after a chase on the Trans-Canada Highway Monday morning.
On Tuesday, RCMP released details on the charges laid against Little, some of which stemmed from an alleged robbery that took place before the chase began. Mounties say Little left a retail business with a bag of stolen goods before pulling forcibly pulling the woman from her vehicle and driving away in it.
A chase with RCMP began after officers caught up with the stolen car in Rush Lake. The driver avoided spike belts by driving over the meridian. The chase came to an end when the car hit a large hay bale and lost control.
