Jeep bursts into flames at Gateway Mall parking lot

A jeep on the roof parking lot of Gateway Mall caught fire shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. An onlooker saw a man and his child exit a smoky vehicle, look around for the source of the smoke and go inside the mall.
A short time later the vehicle burst into flames. The onlooker called 911 and the firefighters arrived quickly. They were able to tame the blaze.
Paramedics cared for a male with minor injuries and he was taken by ambulance to hospital for further care.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
