Labour board ruling halts transit pension changes, lockout continues
Saskatoon's transit lockout will continue for at least another week but a ruling by the provincial labour relations board Friday will force the City of Saskatoon to hault changes the city passed Monday to the transit union's pension plan.
The board chose to keep the lockout going but said the union could reapply in one week to have it lifted.
The board heard arguments from both the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) and the city – about the legality of the transit lockout.
The ATU argued Saturday's lockout was illegal because the labour board has an outstanding decision to make about a transit employee.
