A Grandmother’s Bay man is facing numerous charges related to a hit and run that injured three on Sunday in that community.

RCMP in Stanley Mission received a tip that a pickup truck driven by a man hit three pedestrians on a street within Grandmother’s Bay. Witnesses told the RCMP that the man left the vehicle and fled the scene.

When officers got to the scene of the accident, they found a 19-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old man and 21-year-old man injured. The three were treated by the La Ronge EMS. The pickup truck was still at the scene.

The victims were taken to a hospital in La Ronge, but were later transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. All three had non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was treated and released, as was the 21-year old man. The 42-year-old man is still in hospital.

RCMP later found and arrested Clayton Scott Roberts, 26, in Grandmother's Bay. He made his first court appearance in La Ronge on Monday morning.

Roberts faces three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and one count of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

He will make his next court appearance in Stanley Mission on Oct. 16.
