Another sold out success! Our talent wowed the crowd and the crowd wowed us with their enthusiasm, energy and openness to the eclectic range of speakers.

Here is this need to know information about this month’s talent:

Cobble stone streets, candle lit cafes, and the muse. A song. Captivaitng listeners, Anne-Marie Williot playfully invites you into the depths of honesty. Rooted in the raw beauty of experience, the multi-instrumentalist writes and sings original music on guitar, accordion, and flute. Originally from Québec and having lived in Spain, Anne-Marie weaves her stories in French, English, and Spanish, unearthing a different creature with each language and each instrument. http:/manitobamusic.com/annemariewilliot .   Anne-Marie played guitar and accordion, sang in French and English and got the audience involved with a hilarious original song called Little Smoke Bird – which caused group coughing – you had to be there – it was so fun!

Sandy Hudson spent 5 years volunteering and then 10 years being paid to run women’s group and develop women’s projects in the UK. Moved with her husband and teenage boys to Canada in 2006, to give the boys better opportunities and a better life. Career Counselor by day, Experience Manitoba Organiser, Toastmaster and Fort Whyte volunteer by night!  http://www.meetup.com/Experience-Manitoba-Group/.  Sandy shared what is was like not fitting it and how she solved that problem and made her life (and others) much better!  Her clever analogy of fitting in shoes and fitting in life was relevant and easy to relate to.

Marvin Dyck grew up on a hog farm, financed post secondary education as a truck driver and crane operator, and practised as a criminal defense lawyer, mediator and child advocate until leaving that profession in the mid-1990’s to become pastor of a Mennonite Brethren church in Winnipeg. He is married, with children and grandchildren.  http://www.crossroadsmb.ca. Marvin talked about the release of prisones and our role (as society in general) in creating an environment of radical hospitality.  He educated us about  Circles of Support and Accountability (for high risk sex offenders) and Open Circle (prison visitation) services (you’ll see when you google them) of Initiatives for Just Communities.  I will be checking that out for sure and I encourage you to do the same.

Zofia Monika Dove practiced as a Physiotherapist in Poland and immigrated to Canada in late 80’s. Though she was once unable to communicate in English; today she uses the English language to share her encouraging message as an international speaker and a published poet. Her book ” Unexpected Gifts” was inspired by her patients and is described by them as universal, healing and hope giving. Combining her unique life experiences with the many lessons learned during her 24 years in healthcare, she passionately presents a message that resonates with people everywhere.  www.palliativeheartwhisperer.com.  Zofia, forever the optimist despite huge challenges, spoke from the heart about  her journey to Canada and surrendering to her greater purpose.

Tara Miller has done what most people might think would be an impossible challenge. Tara has become a legally blind professional commercial photographer. After winning a national photo contest the public reached out through email and social media to let Tara know how she inspires others because of her determination not to let her disability to stand in the way of her passion.“I have struggled with my vision loss due to Glaucoma and found my “inner peace” when I took up photography  again. I want to let others know not give up what you are passionate about.  http://100acrewoodsphotography.com.  Tara shared her story of living well with blindness and showed courage and  strength that we can all learn from.  During the interview portion of the evening, I invited her supportive and loving husband (and business partner) Jeff onto the stage to share the spotlight with her and tell his ‘side of the story!’

Brad Tyler-West has been called the perfect mix of ‘ sage from the stage and guide from the side!’  Born and raised in Australia Bradley left home at 18 years of age to travel the path less travelled…he did so and ended up here in Winnipeg. Bradley is a colourful story teller who has evolved into a master story changer. Bradley is pilgrim of joy in his own life. He supports his clients as they embrace their own journey and their possibilities through coaching, mentoring, workshops, seminars and live events.  Find BradleyChristopherWest on Facebook.  Brad took us on a roller coaster ride, laughing, crying and feeling our way to growth and acceptance. He talked about working through our bitter to get to our better and changing our stories that we may think define us and he reminded us that we are strong enough for everything.  Amen to that.

The audience interactive portion of the evening had us meeting each other and discovering beautiful, kind, loving and intentional acts of service that we have seen, done or noticed in our lives. I love the ‘getting to know the audience’ part of the evening!

Our next event in Winnipeg will be on August 12, 2013 – get your tickets early (only $10) as they are always sold out.  If you are not in Winnipeg, check out the site as MoMondays are happening all over North America!

In July, I will be hosting a different, but equally inspiring event called Never Be the Same, it is free but you must pre-register. Find out more information about this Tuesday July 16, 2013 motivating and life-changing event here.

Meanwhile if you need a positive boost, please check our Your Life, Unlimited radio broadcast on CJOB – we air live Friday evenings at 7 pm or you can listen to the podcasts anytime and/or subscribe to the itunes or rss feeds.
