More direct U.S. flights out of Saskatchewan increases air travel

Saskatchewan increased its air travel by two per cent since last past year, thanks in large part to more flight options for people flying to and from the United States.

More direct flights to locations such as Las Vegas, Phoenix and Palm Springs lead to approximately 50,000 more people flying between Saskatchewan and the U.S.

Jim Hunter with the Regina Airport Authority says the increased flights have had a positive effect on business.

“We’ve increased the availability of flights and destinations to the folks in Regina and southern Saskatchewan, and that must have had an effect,” said Hunter.
