UPDATE: Severe thunderstorms, hail hit Saskatoon area

Severe thunderstorms watches and warnings continue to sweep across the majority of the province, including areas surrounding Saskatoon.

Quarter-sized hail has been reported in Biggar, along with golf ball-sized hail in Warman.

Along with large hail, heavy downpours and strong winds hit Saskatoon and area.

Severe storms carrying hail swept through southern parts of the province on Sunday and are expected again Monday, this time in the east-central area.

Natalie Hasell with the weather office says there is some rotation showing up in the northeast which means there is the potential for a supercell thunderstorm to develop with big hail, strong wind and a lot of rain.
