The RCMP search for Carol King continues – While family and friends are hoping and praying for her – half a country away.

The 40-year-old, originally from Mattis Point, Newfoundland, went missing nine days ago.

Her vehicle was found in a slough near her home in Herschel.

Family and friends from her home town have been on edge waiting for more news.

“It’s devastating because it’s like my hands are tied. I wish I could be there to help, I go on Facebook and basically wait to see if there’s any more news,” said King’s cousin, Cynthia Bennet.

Bennett believes her cousin is still alive and fighting. The rest of the town has hope too.

“There (are) a lot of people with a lot of candles burning right now and there (are) a lot of prayers going out that she’s going to come back.”

The family is offering a $25,000 reward for anyone with information.
