Vehicle found near Herschel belongs to Carol King

Aug 11, 2011 | 9:52 AM

RCMP say a vehicle found Wednesday in a slough northeast of Herschel belongs to Carol King, who has been missing since Saturday.

The RCMP’s “F” Division Underwater Recovery Team, along with Forensic Identification officers, removed the car from the water at about 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday. King’s Chrysler PT Cruiser has been transported to Saskatoon for further examination.

Carol King is still missing.

Her sister, Brenda King, says she is baffled by the disappearance. She notified the RCMP after being unable to get a hold of her sister by phone.

Carol King is originally from Newfoundland but moved to a farmhouse near Rosetown three years ago for work. Her sister just recently came from Halifax to be close to the search efforts.

An underwater recovery team will continue dives at the scene on Thursday.

Anyone with information about King’s whereabouts is asked to contact Rosetown RCMP at 882-5700 or Crime Stopeers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
