North Battleford ambulance crews responded to a number of collisions this August long weekend, including a fatal car accident.
A 17-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a car on Saturday afternoon when he was walking off a grid road 40km north of the Battlefords, near the Moosomin First Nation.
45-year-old Melvin Swiftwolfe is charged with impaired driving causing death, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving while suspended.
Area emergency crews also responded to four other collisions, two of which involved animals being hit, another pedestrian being hit and a car striking a pole.
