Saskatoon transit dispute comes to vote
Members of the Saskatoon Transits Union were sent to a meeting that could include a strike vote — which if passed, could take place immediately.
Jim Yakubowski, Vice President of ATU 615, wouldn't confirm the motion, but in a letter obtained from the Amalgamated Transit Union, members were informed that the vote would take place today.
However, Yakubowski admitted that wages are one of the issues in dispute, but wouldn't get into specifics.
“There are other issues that are preventing us from reaching a tentative agreement at this point but we are hopeful that perhaps with further discussions we will be able to resolve this,” said Yakubowski.
