A taste of Prince Albert

Jul 23, 2011 | 11:34 AM

It’s a chance to learn what food Prince Albert has to offer and check out entertainment.

“Taste of Prince Albert is a way for people to come out to Kinsmen Park on a hot summer day and test all the restaurants of Prince Albert,” said Bergen Price, with the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber hosts the annual event, which Price said is great for all ages.

“We seem to have a good setup where we can entertain the masses, so anyone can come,” he said.

This year there will be about 10 restaurants participating in the event, including Persia Bistro, Two by Dahlsjo, Neighbourhood Catering, Asian Lee and Northern Lights Casino restaurant.

It’s a great chance for people to check out food and restaurants that they haven’t tried before, said Deb Honch, executive director with Prince Albert Tourism and Marketing.

“I always love a little bit out of the ordinary, like Persia Bistro. I love to take those folks in,” she said.

“Every year there is something new that I have to add to my list of things that make me eat way more than I should and love every minute of it.”

The entertainment line-up includes Canadian Idol finalist, Josh Palmer, Price said.

There are a few changes to the annual event. The chamber has extended the hours of the event. Taste of Prince Albert will run Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. this year.

Also on Thursday the event will pair up with Kidz Fest. The kid’s entertainment, including Thomas the train, will be available at Taste of Prince Albert.

“I think people should just come there and have a blast,” Price said.
