Name of Warman woman accused of stabbing baby released

The name of the Warman woman accused of stabbing a baby boy has been released.

Twenty-one-year-old Simone Mary Janine Lawrence is charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing the five-month old boy in a Warman home in May.

Her name was previously banned from publication in order to protect the young victim's identity, but that ban has since been lifted.

Lawrence did not appear in Saskatoon court Wednesday as originally scheduled.

Lawrence’s lawyer, Wanda Towstego, asked a provincial court judge to adjourn her client's case to Thursday, so she can gather more information outside of a bail application being presented on Thursday.
