Two people die on Sask. highways Friday

Two people in Saskatchewan have died in two separate car accidents Friday afternoon.

The first accident happened just before 1 p.m. outside Moosimin. The second occurred near Balgonie.

An adult woman was killed in the first crash which involved a semi-truck on the Trans-Canada Highway.

A man also died on Highway 10 near Balgonie when his car crashed with an SUV and landed in a slough. Two people in the SUV were taken to hospital.

Sgt. Paul Dawson, with the RCMP, said the accidents occurred within minutes of each other.

“The calls to attend both of these came within six minutes,” said Dawson.

As of Friday afternoon, police are asking motorists to avoid the areas and to expect delays as the investigations continue.
