A youth is facing 10 charges following two break and enters last week.

They took place at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, July 8 and happened within 40 minutes of each other, said Sgt. Jason Stonechild, with the Prince Albert Police Service.

He called them “very serious offenses.” The charges the male youth is facing include forcible confinement, break and enter, aggravated assault, sexual assault, sexual interference, possession of a weapon and uttering threats.

The two incidents both took place in the east side of the city, and Stonechild said they were in close proximity to each other.

“We caught the individual inside of one of the residences,” he said.

“He had barricaded himself in upon our attendance, utilizing our K9 unit we were able to arrest the individual inside of the second residence.”

There are three victims, he said “two of which sustained non-life threatening injuries, they were treated and released from the Victoria Hospital.”

The other sustained no injuries.

Stonechild said he was not able to comment on what the injuries were.

The youth made a court appearance last week, but is back in court Friday morning. Stonechild said he could not comment on whether or not the accused has a criminal past.
