Kim Walker awaits sentencing

Jul 13, 2011 | 6:55 AM

Yorkton man, Kim Walker's years of bouncing in and out of courts will end when he's sentenced Wednesday for manslaughter in the death of his daughter’s boyfriend, James Hayward.

Last month Walker was tried for the second time in Hayward's shooting death.

A jury found him guilty of manslaughter, hearing that Walker fired ten shots from a semi-automatic pistol at the 24-year-old man he insists got his teenage daughter hooked on drugs. Five bullets hit their target, killing Hayward.

Walker has spent three and a half years in jail. He was convicted of second degree murder years ago but won an appeal.
