Strippers petition Sask. government to lift ban
A group of about a half-dozen strippers spent the lunch hour Monday in Regina collecting signatures for a petition that asks the Saskatchewan government to strike a law that bans stripping in venues that serve alcohol.
The group said the legislation forces them to leave the province to make a living.
“We are the only province left that hasn't legalized this and there are so many of us who have to leave Saskatchewan for work,” explained a dancer, who goes by the stage name of Nicky Starr.
The group of women insists the law is outdated and puritanical.
