Saskatoon woman steals by posing as a charity worker

Jul 8, 2011 | 7:19 AM

A Saskatoon woman has been fraudulently canvassing for a charity she does not work for, then pockets the donations.

The woman wears a t-shirt with the charity's name on it when she asks people to donate.

Constable TishaRae Stonehouse with the Saskatoon police said this type of incident is common because people tend to be generous when giving to charity.

“Saskatoon is known for that goodheartedness. That's why this type of fraud is so easily conducted and the persons responsible easily get away with it,” said Stonehouse.
