Several Saskatchewan communities still without power following thunderstorm
SaskPower says Sunday night’s storms knocked out power to many communities across the province.
Much of the affected areas have their power back on. But SaskPower's James Parker said resort areas west of Glaslyn, including Turtle Lake and Brightsand, are still in the dark, affecting hundreds of customers. The stormy weather actually brought down some power poles and there's debris on conductors.
“Places like North Battleford, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Yorkton, Melville area (were) hard hit,” said Parker.
The power is still out in St.Walburg and Edam and Parker said it will be later Monday before SaskPower can get the lights back on. There is storm damage to fix first.
