People of Lampman fight back against floods

Residents of Lampan, Saskatchewan are fighting back against flood waters with sandbags and sacrifice.

During meal time at the Lampman town hall flood volunteers sit down with homemade salads and sausages, before heading back out.

One volunteer, Glen Gress is worried about the work ahead.

“I’m concerned, we don’t know how much water is going to come,” said Gress.

Gress hasn't been to work in week, but his employer understands.

“It does cut into your bottom line but you are trying to save the communities around and if we don’t have communities we have nothing,” said Gress.

The sandbaggers are obvious in Lampman, they standout with calluses on their hands and bruises along their arms.
