Postal strike not to effect social assistance, month-end cheques
Jun 23, 2011 | 10:24 AM
With the ongoing postal strike, the Ministry of Social Services is waiting it out when it comes to month end cheques.
Despite the strike social assistance and other month-end cheques will be made available no later than June 30. But the Ministry is still deciding whether clients will pick them up or if they'll be put in the mail if postal service resumes.
The final decision will be announced Monday through the media and on the Ministry's website. If cheques are to be picked up, that will start Tuesday.
