Warman woman facing attempted murder charge is sent to Battlefords

A Warman woman charged after an infant child was stabbed is being sent to the Battlefords.

The woman, who cannot be named because of a court ordered publication ban, faces charges of attempted murder and carrying a concealed weapon.

The 21-year-old was arrested last month after police were called to a Warman home to preserve the peace while a family court order was being served.

It was then that a five-month-old baby boy was stabbed and was sent to hospital in critical condition.

Lawyer Wanda Towstego said her client is suffering from severe postpartum depression. She will be assessed to determine whether she is criminally responsible.
