Board Retreat

As we gathered at “my place” in the Prince Albert Golf and Country club for our annual retreat, we discussed the future goals and objectives of the chamber. This was hard task to accomplish while the Stanley cup finals were being televised. Despite this unanticipated distraction, we continued with our discussions about the strengths of the chamber and plans for expansion. There have been many changes over the last two years, which is most attributed to the good leadership and hard work. The board took the time to recognize the achievements (which are too numerous to go into details) of the outgoing CEO and discussed possible recruiting options for the incumbent. We will continue to advocate for our chamber members and make this city a better place to do business.

Golf Tournament

It was a bright and sunny day on when the players arrived at Marks Nine’s Golf Course. We set record attendance with a total of seventy players and nineteen teams. This event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors. There were many door prizes to be won, including a very stylish BBQ set, which was awarded to the winning team of the Northern Lights Casino (congratulations). Unfortunately, no one was able to achieve the hole in one, which was graciously sponsored by Cornerstone Insurance.

The tournament was followed up by a wonderful Steak supper which was well received. This event was great opportunity for chamber members to socialize and network. It is important to take some time off from our business to realize that we are part of a wider business community. That is what the chamber does best, builds bridges.

Summer Time Activities

Bring your appetite and roll up your sleeves because the taste of Prince Albert is coming soon. This year, it will take place from July 25th to the 28th at Kinsmen Park. We will bring great entertainers to guarantee a good show and superb cuisine to tantalize your taste buds. This will be a wonderful summer event for the family and people of all ages. If you would like to get involved, we are always looking for volunteers, so feel free to contact the Chamber.

New Website

It has been a long and challenging endeavour to create a new website for the Chamber of Commerce. With the help Mr. Les Dickson, we will be launching our new website in the coming week. This will be a great tool to interact with our chamber members. The digital age is upon us and we would like to embrace this new media with open arms. In the coming weeks we hope that you will log on to our site and stay in touch.
