Lots to See and Do at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre During the Street Fair – June 18

On Saturday, June 18 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) the E.A. Rawlinson Centre, the showcase for visual and performing arts in the community, will take part in the Downtown Street Fair. Tours of the Mann Art Gallery will be ongoing throughout the day.

Theatre tours of the Olive and John Diefenbaker Theatre (including the backstage area, the fly floor, the green room and dressing rooms) will be held at 10 a.m., 1p.m. and 3 p.m. The tours will be given on a first come first served basis.

The Fall 2011 Season Preview which is 1 hour in length will be shown in the theatre at 11a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Promotional material and booster buttons will be distributed. A volunteer display will be set up to describe volunteer opportunities that are available.

The Mann Art Gallery will have a children’s craft area. Gallery staff and volunteers will guide children through the creation of crafts such as visors made from recycled materials.

Demos and displays will be ongoing throughout the day featuring local stained glass makers, the Mid-Pro Rock and Gem Society, Jack Jensen with his cast paper process, Delbert Montgrand, airbrush artist (who paints t-shirts stencils that he has created), watercolourist Dennis Varga, representation from the Spinners and Weavers, Sharp Needles Embroidery and a display by the Northern Image photographers.
