Privatization of Saskatchewan provincial parks “not going to happen”

In a new ad campaign the Saskatchewan General Employees Union (SGEU) says that Saskatchewan’s parks will all be privatized in the next 10 years.

Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Bill Hutchinson said that is not the case.

“No interest whatsoever in selling parks. That’s not going to happen. It hasn’t happened in the past, it’s not happening now, it’s not going to happen in the future,” said Hutchinson.

Hutchinson said the provincial government's actual agenda is quite the opposite. He said proposals are in to potentially add two new provincial parks in Saskatchewan.
