Spring camp kicks off
Prospective players for next season at Carleton High School are taking “Football 101.”
The school's annual spring football camp kicked off on the warm Thursday afternoon at Prime Minister's Park. The first order of business heading into camp is recruitment, said Head Coach Rylan Michalchuk.
“The second thing is just to dust off some of the cobwebs and get the kids running around with their pads and their helmets and throwing the football, catching the ball and smacking some people around.”
Michalckuk is also hoping to use the four sessions to identify players to build around solid veterans who are slated to form the nucleus on both sides of the ball for next year's senior squad.
