La Ronge RCMP investigate robbery

La Ronge RCMP are investigating a robbery.

It occurred Thursday at about 11:45 p.m. at a business on La Ronge Avenue.
Sgt. Paul Dawson, RCMP media relations, said one person is in custody but no charges have been laid.

“(RCMP received) reports that one of the employees of this business was assaulted during the robbery,” he said. Ambulance attended.

“The victim was transported to the local medical clinic and he was treated for non-life threatening injuries,” he said.

There are five subjects who are allegedly involved, but Dawson could not provide any description of them, although he said they departed in a “green or teal sedan type vehicle.”

He could not provide any information about the type of business, although stressed it is the type of business that would be open until 11:45 p.m. Items were taken from the business He could not release information on whether a weapon was used.
