Buckland crime spree results in jail

One of two men who went on a crime spree this month in the rural municipality of Buckland is going to jail.

Kelly Gaiton Rabbitskin, 20, of the Big River First Nation was arrested on May 4 inside a building behind R & W Custom Collision.

Buckland firefighters were credited with thwarting a theft attempt by the two men who had stolen two vehicles, and broken into two buildings earlier that day.

After being cornered by the firefighters, the two men barricading themselves in the building and later surrendered when a Prince Albert Police Service dog was brought in.

Rabbitskin pleaded guilty Friday to numerous charges including break and enter, motor vehicle theft and mischief and was sentenced to 22 months in jail.
