A Monday night garage fire is being deemed as suspicious by police.

At 7:35 p.m., the Prince Albert Police Service was called to the 100 block of 22 St. W. because of a garage fire.

Investigators determined that bags of dry yard waste had been intentionally set on fire, and it spread to the garage directly next to it.

Sgt. Kelly McLean said police suspect those who did it are children. According to witnesses on scene, several young girls between eight and 10 years old were in the area immediately before and after the fire, he said.
