A trusted name in the alarm systems business is now monitoring a few more Prince Albert households.

Scan-Tech Alarm Systems said it plans to add a few more staff after acquiring 170 alarm contracts from the Flaman Security.

Flaman is getting out of the alarm systems business to focus on its agriculture equipment rentals franchise instead.

We are constantly reevaluating our business, said Manager Steve Flaman.

“We don’t have enough alarm contracts to do an efficient job of looking after all our customers. Our business isn’t set up as efficiently as Scan-Tech.”

When we took a look at companies that could service our customers there was really only one choice and that was Scan-Tech, Flaman said.

Scan-Tech has been in business since 1992. Owner, Jacqueline Cyr said their track record is the reason they have been so successful.

“The alarm business is a lot on referrals so if you can give good customer service … you will get referrals. We are surviving solely on the alarm industry. If you’re not doing a good job you can’t do that, Cyr said.

The transaction between Scan-Tech and Flaman Security was completed on April 1.
