Bargaining talks to resume in teacher’s contract dispute

May 9, 2011 | 4:06 PM

The Saskatchewan Teacher's Federation (STF) has accepted an invitation from the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee to head back to the negotiating table.

“We're very pleased that the union was open to discussing that return to the table. So the next step is to allow bargaining to resume,” said Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee spokeswoman Sandi Urban-Hall.

Gwen Dueck, spokeswoman for the STF, is prepared to bargain in what she calls “good faith,” and hopes the government committee plans on doing the same.

“So for that reason there are no immediate plans for further actions,” commented Dueck.
