Young stars shine

Twenty-one young performers showed off their best at the 2011 Search for the Stars concert and competition at the E. A. Rawlinson Centre on Friday.

More than 500 enthusiastic fans cheered on the 18 different acts as they vied for the top prize in four categories.

The List of winners are:

Novice Star – Kara Petit, vocalist, who received a trophy plus a cash prize of $100

Junior Star – Wyatt Bernier, violinist, who received a trophy plus a cash prize of $500

Senior Star – Jasmine McGuin, vocal and piano, who received a trophy plus a cash prize of $1000

Songwriter of the Year – Erika Rybinski from Kinistino, who received a cash prize of $500. Rybinski also won the opportunity to make a professional recording of her song.
