Question of ‘who did it?’ arises from hit and run

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating a hit and run that occurred on last week on the 400 block of Southwood Drive.

Cathy Rodwin was watching television at 6 a.m. on Sunday, when she heard it happen.

“All of a sudden I heard this screech, and like a crash, and then I went and looked out the front window,” said Rodwin.

“I saw a car taking off. It had hit a parked vehicle on our street, and I knew it was him who did it because his back window of his vehicle was all smashed out, and his whole front end of his vehicle was smashed up, but he was still driving.”

Rodwin then went and informed her neighbor of what happened, when the green Neon car drove past again.

“He turned around, and then drove by us again, and I’m going, ‘There goes the car right there!’” said Rodwin.

She only got a glimpse of part of the vehicle’s license plate number, but said she got a good look at the driver, whom she describes as a young man.

The Prince Albert Police Service said a little while later the registered owner of the suspect vehicle called them reporting damage to her car. She claims someone took her vehicle and committed the hit and run.

The police are confident it was the vehicle that committed the damage, but can’t put anyone specific behind the wheel, so SGI will have to make the decision once all the statements are submitted.
