N. Saskatchewan Arts and Culture Handbook Registered Artist Raffle

Apr 18, 2011 | 3:14 PM

The Northern Saskatchewan Arts and Culture Handbook (2011) is soon its way to the printer.

Over 60 artists from eighteen different northern communities have registered.

All registered artists entered a raffle to win a three hundred dollar gift certificate. We have a winner!

Congratulations to Miranda Henderson of Little Red River Indian Reserve (Lac La Ronge Indian Band).

Miranda had participated in the registry because she was attracted by the exposure she would receive through the handbook and to share her passion with other First Nation artists across Saskatchewan.

She had also hoped to win the gift certificate and when she heard she won, she jumped out of bed and said “Yes, finally I have been picked!”

The young visual artist choose a gift certificate from Twilight Framing in Prince Albert and Miranda says she will use the gift-certificate for a $40 brush, she had been hoping would go on sale and for canvas for her empty frames.

Watch for the launch of the Northern Saskatchewan Arts & Culture Handbook soon!
