Police identify discovered body

The Prince Albert Police Service is still investigating the discovery of a body from Friday.

They have identified the woman as 33-year-old Margaret Rose Sewap of Prince Albert.

Police do not have a cause of death for the woman at this time. The body is scheduled for an autopsy in Saskatoon later this week.

Sewap’s death is being called suspicious at this time. Foul play has not been ruled out.

Her body was discovered in the snow behind a hardware business on 17th St.E. Friday at about 6:30 a.m.

The location where the body was found is on a hill side covered by brush.

It's a place that we've received complaints about, said Sgt. Kelly McLean with the Prince Albert Police Service.

“Complaints have ranged from disturbances in that area, drug and alcohol use.”

It would be pure speculation to suggest that type of activity had anything to with Sewap's death, McLean said.

Sewap was known to police, but McLean said police would not release any previous history she may have had with the service.

Police are requesting that anyone with information from the past week call the police at 953-4222.
