RCMP have made an arrest in connection with a number of attempted kidnappings in Yorkton. The latest incident happened Tuesday afternoon. Police say a 28-year-old pedestrian had a man in a dark-coloured truck pull up and offer her money to get in.

She refused, and reported the licence plate to police, who that night, arrested 23-year-old resident Curtis Pawliw. He's charged with solicitation in that case, and assault in relation to an alleged incident March 19th.

There were two other reports of failed kidnappings in Yorkton on March 29 and 30. So far, no charges have been laid in those instances.

Pawliw was released from custody and his next scheduled court date is May 30th. Despite the arrest, police are urging women to travel in numbers, carry a cell phone and be aware of their surroundings at all times.
