Justice initiatives reduce youth court appearances to zero in Patuanak

A community justice coordinator for the English River First Nation in Patuanak, some 400 kilometers North of Prince Albert, has set out to mak youth in her community aware of the justice system, and she brought about an interesting result.

The third-annual Riverside Aboriginal Arts Festival took place Wednesday at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts in Prince Albert. Students from Grades 1 to 8 at the school performed as part of the event.

Premier tours local wildfire sites

Saskatchewan’s leader has returned to the Parkland region.

Premier Scott Moe visited the Provincial Wildfire Centre just North of Prince Albert on May 16, where he spoke with media before departing on a tour of the region’s wildfires.

Sask Emergency Alerts: Get the app as wildfire risk continues

With the extreme wildfire risk and potential for more evacuations the province is recommending the public download the mobile app from Saskatchewan Emergency Alerts.

Sexual Assault Awareness Week kicks off in Prince Albert

The majority of all sexual assaults are never reported, a statistic that local advocates are hoping to change as the province and City of Prince Albert proclaim this week Sexual Assault Awareness Week.
