More work needs to be done to recruit local: PA Chamber CEO

It could soon get tougher for some Prince Albert businesses to fill job vacancies.

The Harper government is reversing changes it made last year to the temporary foreign workers program. Among them is the ability by some companies to fast-track the hiring of workers from outside Canada.

Minister of Economy predicts growth for Sask. and PA

The Minister of the Economy, Bill Boyd, was in Prince Albert to discuss the Saskatchewan Party’s fiscal plan at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday.

One of his first points to the crowd of around 200 people was about the high growth projections for Saskatchewan’s economy.

UPDATE: Prominent Prince Albert citizen passes away

A prominent and highly thought of citizen of Prince Albert has passed away.

Wednesday morning Herschel Davidner died in hospital of unknown conditions.

The 86-year-old owner of Davidner’s Clothing on River Street West ran the store with his father selling work and western wear.
