Winter Festival names honorary chair

A familiar face in the city of Prince Albert was named as honorary chair of the board for this year’s Winter Festival events.

Paul Lomhiem, the advertising director of the Northern Lights Casino was confirmed in that capacity at an event in the Starlight Lounge on Dec. 18.

The video entry by the St. Mary high school band impressed the judges of the CBC Canadian Music Class Challenge. The Canada jersey-clad ensemble made it into the top 10 in their category.

Prince Albert’s St.Mary High can toot its own horn.

The school band rose above the pack to make the top 10 in CBC's Canadian Music Class Challenge. Thousands of students from 500 music classes nationwide initially entered the mix

Art therapy outreach comes to P.A.'s Women’s Shelter

In the basement of the Prince Albert Women's Shelter, Ashley Peterson explained to seven others around a table how once she too called the safe space home.

But after grappling with this dark chapter of her life, she entered university and pursued a background in Indigenous Social Work.

Christmas tree harvest in full swing at Prince Albert National Park

Calls of 'timber' will echo through Prince Albert National Park in the coming weeks, as the site has embarked on its second Christmas Tree Harvest.

The event grants visitors the opportunity to chop down and bring home their very own tree for the holiday season.
