Riders select Regina’s own Mitchell Picton in CFL Draft

Kids in Saskatchewan grow up dreaming they might one day play for the Roughriders and Mitchell Picton was no exception.

Gathered with his family at his home in Regina, it was his brother Aaron Picton, who was previously drafted by the Riders, who broke the news to him.

Cates, Brandvold inducted into the 2017 Plaza of Honour

Two greats will have their names forever etched in Saskatchewan Roughrider history.

Wes Cates and Roger Brandvold have been announced as the 2017 Plaza of Honour inductees.

Cates was the running back from 2007 to 2011, appearing in three Grey Cups, including the 2007 win.

Chris Jones has been fined several times since taking over leadership of the Roughriders totaling more than $110,000.

Riders, Jones smacked with $36K in fines by CFL

While the Roughriders maintain that they never worked out former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel, head coach and vice-president of football operations Chris Jones has been fined $5,000 for speaking with his publicist.

And the fines don’t end there.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released safety Justin Cox over allegations of domestic violence.
 
Regina police arrested Cox Tuesday on a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

Rider season ticket holders could receive discount or change seats if view obstructed

While it's quite the spectacle to look at from the outside, some fans might have some trouble looking onto the field inside.

A small amount of seats inside new Mosaic Stadium will have to deal with stairway railings partially obstructing their view.
