June 11, 1956 – June 12, 2017
Keith Adolf Stieb, age 61, passed away peacefully at RUH with family at his side on June 12, 2017 after a brief struggle with cancer. Keith was born June 11, 1956 in Shellbrook, SK to Richard and Viola (Dobson) Stieb. Keith was raised in Prince Albert, SK. Growing up, he attended Prince Edward School and Riverside Collegiate High School. After graduating, he moved to Moose Jaw to attend SIAST. He came back to employment in Prince Albert where he met Joan (Pugh) and they married in 1980. Keith and Joan had two daughters: Jana and Hayley. That same year he was hired to the Prince Albert Fire Department where he worked until 2009. He retired at the rank of Captain after 29 years of service. Keith had many hobbies and enjoyed volunteering for many organizations and charities throughout his life. Some of these include: playing and refereeing basketball; playing golf and for a time coaching blind golfer Phil Lederhouse; Amateur (Ham) Radio; handgun shooting and the Sask. Handgun Association; St. John Ambulance; and of course many Fire Fighter Charities. He leaves behind: parents Vi and Richard; brothers Glen and Terry; daughters Jana and Hayley (Josh); mother of his children Joan; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. There will be a private family service. There were many good memories over the years. However, in the last few years of his life Keith battled addiction and we have picked one of our charities based on this. OSI-CAN is a Saskatchewan organization helping First Responders and Veterans who suffer from Occupational Stress Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We would ask that people please consider making a donation in Keith’s memory to Prince Albert’s OSI-CAN with a cheque made out to “PAFF Charity Fund” or to the Burn Fund with a cheque made out to “SPFFA Burn Fund”. Please note either with K.Stieb Mem. and send to the Prince Albert Fire Department, c/o Travis Hadiuk, 76 – 15th St E, Prince Albert, Sask., S6V 1E8. The family wishes to thank the staff at RUH and to all of those who have been so kind and caring toward our family over the years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home in Warman, Sask.
