It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Einar Erikson on March 22, 2017 at the Birchview Nursing Home in Birch Hills, SK. Einar was born on June 23, 1928 in the Hagen District near Birch Hills, SK. He was the second youngest child of Norwegian Immigrants Ole & Karen Erikson. Einar lived, farmed and raised his family on the Erikson Family Homestead in the Tiger Hills District, South of Birch Hills. In 2009 Einar moved to the Birchview Nursing Home due to his declining health. Einar is survived by his daughter Janet (Ray Campbell), his son Thomas (Jennifer Clarke) Erikson. Grandchildren Chad (Kelly) Tilsley, Theran (Brett) Tilsley, Diana (Brad Woodhead) Campbell. Great Grandson Harlan Tilsley. Sister-in-law Faye Erikson. Einar is predeceased by his wife Hazel (nee-Johnstone) Erikson, Daughter Lois Tilsley, grandson John Campbell, Parents Ole & Karen Erikson. Siblings Magnhild (Helmer) Bastness, Olga (Einar) Rundbraaten, Emma (Allan) Smith, Olaf (Margerie Roberts) Erikson, Ollianne (Magne) Rundbraaten, Agnus Tubman, Dagney (Sevald) Berg, Ida (Harry) Pawlik, Magne Erikson. Einar will be lovingly remembered by his family for his many stories, his sense of humor and his love for horses, horse sales and rodeos. His grandchildren loved to listen to his stories and jokes. They enjoyed working with him on the farm doing chores and going for wagon and sleigh rides.
